Artists from the States and Brazil came together to contribute to a renowned auction organized by Chiaroscuro Studios, X platform, in support of the ONG Action of Citizenship. The auction featured collections of exclusive superhero drawings, with bids ranging from $100 to $4,000. The value obtained from the sale of original drawings and autographed comics was entirely dedicated to the ONG Ação da Cidadania.
Renowned Artists and Legends at the Auction
More than 80 artists participated in this auction, including legends such as Frank Miller (‘The Dark Knight’), John Romitta Jr. (‘Spiderman’), Mark Miller (‘Kick-Ass’), Jamie Hewlett (‘Tank Girl’ and ‘Gorillaz’), Mark Waid (‘Captain America’), Frank Quitely (‘Great Stars: Superman’), and Jim Lee (‘X-Men’), who currently holds a prominent position at DC Comics.
Among the Brazilian talents showcased at the auction was Bilquis Evely, known for her work on ‘Supergirl: The Woman of Tomorrow’, which earned her an Eisner Award nomination. Other notable names included Camilo Solano, recognized for ‘Semilunar’ and ‘Disenano’, Danilo Beyruth, acclaimed for his revitalization of the character Astronaut in a critically acclaimed series, Ivan Reis from ‘Aquaman’, and the artists from Brazil, Rafael Albuquerque and Rafael Grampá.
Albuquerque, hailing from Porto Alegre, is renowned for his contributions to ‘American Vampire’ and ‘Superman/Batman’, while Grampá from Pelotas recently collaborated with Frank Miller on ‘The Dark Knight: The Golden Child’ and created the miniseries ‘Batman: The Gargoyle of Gotham’.
